Iran Border Guard Commander to visit Pakistan to strengthen bilateral cooperation

Islamabad, IRNA -- The Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Border Guards will visit the Pakistani port city of Karachi at the invitation of the Director-General of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

During an official visit to Karachi, Brigadier General Ahmad Ali Goudarzi is expected to meet with the Director-General of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency and participate in the International Barracuda-XI Exercise.

On the sidelines of the exercise, the Iranian Commander and his delegation will meet with Pakistani officials and some of the participating delegations to discuss bilateral cooperation in the field of sea and regional security.

The Barracuda-XI Exercise started today (January 11) with the participation of 19 countries and will continue until Thursday. The exercise is taking place in the northern part of the Arabian Sea, in Pakistani territorial waters near the Karachi coastline.
